What happens if my artwork arrives damaged?

In the unfortunate event that your artwork arrives damaged, please contact our customer service immediately. We require photographs of the damaged artwork and packaging to assess the claim. Our team will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include a refund, replacement, or repair, depending on the circumstances and in accordance with our return policy.

Does VAT affect sellers on Subjektiv?

Yes, VAT (Value Added Tax) significantly affects artists on our platform, especially in how they manage and report their sales to tax authorities. If you are a seller operating within a VAT-applicable region, it's important to understand the impact of VAT on your transactions and how providing a VAT number can benefit you.

• With a VAT Number: If you provide us with your VAT number, we will identify you as a VAT-registered business. This allows you to sell goods or services without us having to charge VAT on our commission with regards to those sales, under the presumption that you will be managing your own VAT collection and remittance according to your local tax authority's regulations. This process is beneficial as it enables you to handle VAT directly, potentially reclaiming any VAT you've paid on business expenses.
• Without a VAT Number: If you do not provide a VAT number, we are required to treat you as a non-VAT registered entity. In such cases, we will collect VAT on our commission with regards to your sale and remit it on your behalf. To comply with tax laws, the VAT will be deducted from the sale price before the proceeds are paid out to you. This means that the net amount you receive will be the sale price minus our commission and minus the VAT on that commission that we have collected and remitted on your behalf.
